I got my husband a used Smart Car for his birthday and he LOVES it (sometimes I think more than me!) Seriously, he won't shut up about it.  Anyway, I love him, so I made him a cake to go with his car.

Anyway, here's the stupid car "the inspiration"

And this is what I came up with!

I tried just using chocolate cake, but it wouldn't hold up. So I used about 5 (very thin) layers of brownies.   Fondant doesn't taste good to me (I tried marshmallow fondant once, tasty, but sticky). So I just used white frosting and star piped.

I get a little anal, so I had road map of exactly what colors to use when and where.  Here are three of the 6 steps I had outlined:

C&C appreciated! Thanx for looking!!

What a lucky husband. I hope he is duly grateful.

Look twice, buy once. Nooooo
Look twice, decide I can make one instead.

That cake is so cute!  I think I love it more than I love the car, but not more than I love you.  That's not creepy, right?  Wink
