I'm taking a wonderful art course on a Ning site and just had to share my first weeks lesson. We did goddesses influenced by the artist Gustav Klimt. I had a wonderful time exploring his art and adapting it to my style. I call her the "goddess of the inner flame" She is also based on a few Celtic goddesses I love.

She is done on a 20x20 inch square stretched canvas in lots of different medias.
I used home made texture paste to achieve a great texture in the background. It is very shimmery in real life because I used some rich golden acrylics.

Here is a close up of her face, which I am super proud of. I'm new to drawing faces and this course has helped a lot.

Thanks for looking! Grin

Very nice! It definitely has the Klimt style; that's the first thing I thought of when I saw the thumbnail.

I just love this! I am doing something similar, but on my own after being inspired by a couple of people. I think one of them is on Craftster. I just don't remember who. I call my creations " My Girls ".

This is an amazing painting. Klimt is one of my all time favorite artists, and you did him justice with your work!
