hellooo!

I dont normally do housey crafts (but am getting into it in quite a big way!) but my boyfriend was getting annoyed at how bright the bedside lamp is when he's trying to sleep (I sit up reading till all hours!) so I decided to make my lampshade
actually shade light (and look super cool in the process!)
so get ready for like a million pics! here goes:
so this is the lampshade I started with:

then I added some moldable metal mesh to the top so I dont set the house on fire

added a curtain along the bottom

with pinched folds alternating directions

and cut out the pattern along the bottom edge (I regretted starting to do that almost immeadiately! but it turned out nice so!)

put a very fine net over the top with some of the leftovers from the bottom curtain and some lace on the top

and made a little necklace for it on the top as a detail

Then added the tassley trim and leopard ribbon (which was a GIT to do!)

any gaps left from sticking the ribbon on I filled in with acrylic paint as it shone through real bad when the light was on!

Then attempted to take photos of a very dim lamp in the dark!

Now my boyfriend doesnt mind his insomniac girlfriend reading at night and I get to have a pretty bohemian lampshade we're all winning!
Really hope you like this- let me know! Or tell me if you think it could be added to or made better!
Thanks for looking!
