you old fossil you!  haha  okay just kidding.  those are pretty awesome though and good for you that you can make fun of yourself

Not only was this funnier than if I'd decorated them "alive," it was faster and not so intensely sweet was if the whole surface were covered with royal icing.

I love this idea for dino cookies!!   Happy belated birthday!

Thanks!  Much faster: no dye, quick to pipe.  And thanks for the belated wishes!

i was just thinking they would be a lot less sweet, and perfect for hubby's next birthday... or moms, or Dads... And they'd all enjoy them more, since they wouldn't be covered in sweet sweet icing.  And you are welcome!

What a GREAT idea!  Less sweet and less time then full on sugar cookie decorating.
My little one is currently obsessed with "dino-RAWR" (he thinks its one word). I will have to file this idea away for his birthday.

Thanks!  I usually make shortbread to decorate, but misplaced my recipe somewhere, so made sugar cookies this time.  However, the shortbread is even less sweet.  More butter, though, and I think a bit too brittle for things like his tiny arms.
