I have been quilting for a long time, and I have several shoe boxes of scraps.  I sold some of my scraps at a yard sale, and I turned some of them into a lap quilt for our den couch.
Here is a picture of the whole quilt:

I used more scraps for the back:

and here is a picture of the quilt on the couch (the really old, we need to replace this thing couch):

I am really happy how it turned out.  Plus, I used up a lot of scraps, and I helped dress up our worn out couch!!

Wonderful!  Loving the string quilt look - and hey, you could always re-upholster your couch with a string quilt top...well - maybe not.  Smiley

Oh, man. This reminds me that I have at least three shoe boxes and a vase(!) filled with scraps.Tongue Anyway, I love the look of your quilt. Although it would be quite ambitious, I like CraftyDiem's idea of re-upholster your couch with a string quilt top.Cheesy

Thanks for the comments.

If I were both sufficiently skilled and ambitious, a quilted re-upholstery job might be a great idea!  I'll just have to settle for draping quilts on top of the couch for now.

A-ok with personal swaps.

Attempting my first quilt.  English paper piecing.  Sewing together 900 hexagons.
