I'm a Craftster BEST OF 2013 Winner!

I needed a small journal for an upcoming trip. Something that would fit in my backpack, allow me to create some quick (small) entries and drawings. This little beauty is only about 5" by 3.75", with pages made from paper bags. These are cut open bags that I use as a drop cloth beneath painting and crafting, and also use to clean extra paint off of brushes.

I love random backgrounds to draw and doodle on, it starts the creative process for me. I'm terrible at actually creating an underpainting on purpose....go figure.

The cover is from a cereal box, covered with torn paper, tissue paper, pencil shavings, washi tape, and a few other random things.

The inside pages are the paper bags with some of them folded into pockets and stitched. I then did a simple string binding and added beads for fun. Some are paper beads.

A small set of colored pencils, a pen and I am set to go.
