Hi,

I made last year a jointed teddy bear with one eye. One eye because i don't know why but the eye kept on dropping all the time for no apparent reason. So the teddy bear became a pirate teddy bear with a pirate hat. Now, i want to give this bear to someone special and i felt i had to do something with that missing eye. Should i make an embroidered patch to show that he is handicapped ? Do you have any suggestions ?

I saw that some people to show a missing eye did something like a circle where the eye was supposed to be, then an X. It looked really cool too.

It sounds like a really neat teddy. You should post pictures of it once you're done Smiley

Awww he is adorable!

Wait! if you said he's a pirate, why now make a patch to put over where that eye should be? Smiley

You could find another similar eye, cut the shank off, and use gorilla glue to keep it in place.  Just a thought.

Hi Again,

I gave the bear to someone and apparently the bear lost his head. I wonder why.
What should i do ? I think i am going to remove the head joint and just stitch the head to the body.

I think removing the joint and sewing the head on is a good idea.  There are only 2 reasons I can think of why the head joint didn't hold together.

The joint wasn't popped together tight enough or
Maybe the stitches around the joint weren't pulled tight enough

Just a thought.
