I created this cute little acorn pincushion /needlebook for my patner snapsanddrangons in the needlebook swap.  The acorn itself was a 2 new craft learning experience for me.  In the mini 12 days of Christmas swap my partner lindyv321 sent me a learn to crochet kit.  The top of my acorn, the cap, is my first attempt at crocheting something in over 30 years.  I needlefelted the acorn itself, the 2nd craft that I have never done.  All of the stitching was done by hand.  I also crafted the 3 acorns pins out of clay

Lovely.  I guess your lucky partner will enjoy using it.  I particularly like the acorn-headed pins.  I can see a lot of possibilities in that idea. Did you use oven-baked or air drying clay for the heads?

Sculpey oven bake.   With the large pin head ball inside.  Yes lots of possibilities.

This is gorgeous, such a lucky swap partner.  I love everything about it, from the felt colors and stitching, to your big acorn and pins.  Wisted.
