So, about two years ago I started on an afghan for my fiance.  It was going to be a bed-sized gray and black thing, and about twenty rows in I abandoned it and restarted completely.  At last, the finished project is done.  Finished it this morning.  It's now a lapghan, and the man loves it.  He and the cat are cuddled with it as I type Smiley  I'm pretty proud of it myself; unfortunately my terrible pictures don't do the colors justice.

I used Red Heart because it's durable and washable.  It's a gigantic granny square since I'm too impatient to make a ton of little ones and then sew them together.

I got the pattern for the solid square out of a library book, but this http://crochet-mania.blogspot.com/2008/01/solid-granny-square.html is pretty much the same.  There are also good videos on Youtube is you search "solid grany square."

Happy hooking!

Well, from what I can see here, those colors are smashing!  Great color combo, and nice stitching too!  Red Heart rocks, doesn't it?

Red Heart is awesome.  Cheap price but in my experience the quality hasn't been cheap Smiley
