I grew up watching my mom quilt, so for my 21st bday I had my boyfriend buy me my first sewing machine! A few wristlets and table runners later, I dove into the wonderful world of quilting! and without further interruption...

MY FIRST QUILT!

this is probably the easiest pattern for a beginner, because even if the rows don't line up it still looks good!

Thank you for looking Smiley

Well done.  What was the pattern you used?  I like the colors as well.

Yay on the sewing machine! Mine was a present for my 18th bday. Ooh I feel old now saying that since I've had it for over a decade now lol! Your quilt turned out great, congrats on a wonderful first project! Grin

That looks very similar to the one I made out of a jelly roll and white sashing fabric:

I really like the way yours came out, too!  I agree, this one is pretty forgiving of blocks that don't line up well.

And to answer the question about a pattern (for green r my tear$) - I got the pattern out of a book on making jelly roll quilts - not sure the name of the book - I borrowed it from the library - but I can try to find the pattern and see if I can get the name of it for you!

You're very welcome! Cheesy  I love getting inspiration from this board - happy to be able to give some, too!

And the name of the pattern was "Sparkling Gemstones," but I still don't know the title of the book, so not too sure how helpful that information will be!

awesome! I am intending on making my very first quilt ... without a sewing machine. though my bday is in april, maybe I'll wish for a sewing machine for my 28th! Wink

Very nicely done! *applauds* i just love the way it looks. (it's made of my fave colors too, so double awesome! Wink )
