I have really got into refashioning clothing, it's something I've always promised myself I'd do when I bought things from thrift stores but just never got round to it, so this year I started a blog and am doing a months theme of Hand-Me-Down Horrors, refashioning clothing I'd previously bought from thrift stores and also uninspiring clothing currently in my wardrobe. The deal is that I have to use what I have, no fabric shopping trips just stash only.

This one turned out so cute I just had to share it. It's the same dress with a few repairs to the seam lines which had come unstitched and a collar made by tracing the shape of the neckline to make a pattern, adding seam allowances then fusing and stitching on. I started to write a tutorial but the lighting in my apartment is abismal.

Without futher ado here it is, hope you like it and feel free to check out my blog and keep up with my refashions.

and of course the old trusty crumpled up before shot!!

Couldn't decide to add buttons or not so let me know what you think, with or without?
The buttons are currently just pinned on which is a great way to check out the look without having to sew them on until you make your mind up!! let me know what you think.

It's a small change, but makes a huge difference.

Definitely keep the buttons.

Beautiful! and in my opinion, buttons for sure. they definitely belong with the whole look. what a wonderful dress came from your own design and yet with so little change. love it!
