i made a copy of the handout w/o all the titles, etc it had on it and printed it on normal computer paper, cut it to the size of the lamp, and then just mod-podged it on. it needed something to cover the paper edges, so i just used some skinny black ribbon to sort of finish it off.

Awesome awesome lamp!  Super cute.  I was just wondering though, does putting the paper around it like that make it a fire hazard?  I remember my mom telling me to take these postcards off my lamp that I paper clipped on when I was about 12 because they might catch fire.  I think maybe she was just jealous of my crafty genius at a young age  Cheesy

Now the wintertime is coming,
The windows are filled with frost.
I went to tell everybody,
But I could not get across.
Well, I wanna be your lover, baby,
I don't wanna be your boss.
Don't say I never warned you
When your train gets lost.

Cute and Educational. You will probably remember all of the signs now that you look at them so much.

in response the comments/questions:

-you could do this for any lampshade. i only used the lamp i did because a drum shade is flat all around and easier to work with...plus i think it looks cleanest.

-i made a post on here before making this lamp about the possibility as a fire hazard and was assured that the mod podge/paper would be fine. i keep the lamp on for a while at a time and have had no problems/damage.

-i'm sure there might be sheets like this available online but i havent really looked since i already have them. look on google/google images!

-comics might be alright, but with the lamp on you'd probably see the back of the paper through them and might no be able to tell what it is anymore.....still worth a shot, though!
