Your first picture looks as if each individual square is saying something.
At first I thought it was a 'smooch' from each square, but no, they are just an exuberant crowd all trying to speak at the same time.

The different colours have different personalities don't you think?

Very beautiful shawl!!  I'm quite addicted to Noro.  What pattern did you use for the headband?

This is EXACTLY what I was thinking when I first saw this project.

Awesome entrelac! I love the different colors in the Noro...good choices in picking the colorway!

Thank you for all the lovely comments!

Jane2 and striker927, yup, i love when knitting projects sometimes start to talk me... in a pleasant way  Wink and this one has even got anatomy to go along with it. the correspondence in colors of the different shapes really is done mostly by the noro colorways... all i did was picking the ones that talked to me the most  ...
i wore the shawl most of last week when being outside. it took this test, too  Smiley

suganspyyce, the pattern for the headband is from the book "sock yarn one-skein wonders". it took only a very small portion of a skein to knit it up. so yay for sock yarn!!

Molliemoo2883, i tried entrelac for the first time, too. the technique itself is brilliant and not as fidgety as i had feared ... and knitty has wonderful patterns. so well written and workable.

Happy knitting, everyone!

xx, Nan

Beautiful!
I love the way it looks patchwork-y but remains elegant.  It's almost harlequin-esque, I could see it as part of a jester-inspired outfit.  I kind of want to make a steampunk jester outfit and make this shawl for it now.  I love it so much!

This shawl is so neat! I love the color. I have been looking at how to make a hole so the pattern will be helpful.
