I made these two jewelry displays for my stepdaughter Romy (11), for Christmas.
She loves them.

I took two Ikea mirrors and covered their wooden frames with fancy wallpaper from a wallpaper sample book.
I got a huge pile of expensive wallpaper sample books for free from an interior decorating shop (one can always ask...).
The colours match Romy's room. I attached the wallpaper with double sided tape.

I drew dots for the placement of the hooks on a piece of paper, attached it to the display with scotch tape to keep it in place, and made small holes by hitting a nail with a hammer, through the paper, into the wallpaper covered wood. Then I removed the paper and (with a lot of help from Marc) screwed in the hooks.
I used three kinds of hooks: smaller hooks for rings, eye-hooks for earrings, and bigger hooks for necklaces, bracelets, etc.

At the back I used a few pieces of cardboard to secure the mirror in its place. Then I glued on two hooks for hanging up the mirror. And I attached felt patches (the ones you use under your furniture legs, to protect your floor), to protect the walls they will hang on.

Side views, so you can have a better look at the hooks:

Please feel free to copy this idea.
If you have any more questions, please ask.
I'd love to hear what you think of them!

They look great! I have the same Ikea mirror, and now I have some use for it (and my wallpaper stash)... Thanks for the idea, definitely trying this out!

great idea! I also have a few of those mirrors.. I already have a cool jewelry holder my mom made me, but I am totally going to make these for gifts.   You should submit it to ikeahackers.net   It's a cool blog that shows great stuff people have done to change Ikea items.
