After realizing that I haven't  done any cross-stitching since kindergarten I suddenly got the urge to try it out once more. What better way to start than with the classic Mario Mushrooms? Hell, I even got Mr. Kilt to try it out, haha.

Want to learn to crochet or knit?  I have a ton of extra crochet hooks & circular knitting needles.  Will throw in some pattern books and yarn for anyone interested in a swap.

I made the border from a black and white checkered fabric I had lying around. Cut a strip and folded it into a kind of home made bias tape Smiley

haha, I know what that's like, I've made aprons and oven gloves and things for family and the first thing they say is "oh it's so nice! I'm afraid to use it!" and Im like NNNOOOO please use them!!! hahaha

anyhow, yes, I love these, wisting them, great concept, good presentaton, love the colourscheme, makes it look more contmporary and 'grown up'
