I received my OTT from minathia yesterday afternoon, so without further ado...

It's a Bunny and Tuxedo Kamen applique hoop!  Grin The stitches are so uber tiny, that I'm sure she went blind stitching this, for reals. Aren't they just so cute together??? Ah, the perfect love  Wink  I'll probably hang this up at my desk at work to make sure I actually see it everyday Smiley

Thanks Minathia!  Cheesy

Smiley I had tons of fun making it! I'm really loving the appliqu and layering colored fabrics techniques. Mostly because all of my filler stitches stink lol.

You guys have no idea how involved it was to make this post from my phone! But I had to show off Striker's work and I couldn't wait.

It's a picture from the manga of Elios and Chibi Moon - one of my fav couples. I realy love how the color of Rini's hair pops out. It's so unbelievable to me how accurate everything is. Even though it's mostly black, there's no question what each line is. That's so out of my league! Smiley

The detail is amazing and I took a close-up shot to show you guys. Ill post that later!

Thanks you partner! And thank you organizer! Absolutely made my week.

I'm so glad you like it! Smiley  This was a pretty epic thing for me, so I'm so happy that you like it: makes the work totally worth it! The detail in this picture is just crazy (here's the original image that I used).  I had actually orginally planned on doing it all in black (because the original image was b&w), but I was inspired towards the end to do Chibimoon's hair in pink, and it worked out so well, the hair really pops!  The stem stitch is also really defined in the pink too...even though I used 2 strands of DMC floss for both the pink and black.  Thanks for giving me the chance to practice my embroidery skills!!  Grin

Cheesy

Would you recommend stem stitch for this sort of picture embroidery? I want to do one like this for my brother - subject matter is a car though, lol.

Definitely! I use information over at needlenthread.com and stem stitch was highly praised by the blog owner (Mary Corbet) for being a great line stitch.  She's right! I would practice your stitching first on some straight lines first (I did Helios' leg first when stitching this) to get used to the motions, and then translate that to curves.  It really works well and the rope-like ness of the stitch is really pretty Smiley  Also, I find it is easier to do the "stab" method going around curves, but the "sewing" method works better on straight lines.
