I finished this 1960s inspired dress today. I had the material waiting to be sewn up for some time. I kept the style rather simple to let the fabric stand out more. There are more pictures and information on my blog.
Let me know what you think. I'd like to hear your thoughts. Thank you and have a great weekend everyone. XX

Can't you just see Mad Men's Joanie strutting around in the office in this one? Well maybe for cocktails after work..

You were so right about keeping the style simple, because that fabric is HOT!  Great job!

Thanks everyone for your nice comments. I very much appreciate it.

After cutting the dress, I overlock all raw edges before I do anything else. That usually does the trick and keeps fraying at a minimum. You need to be careful pinning the fabric and sewing it because it's very delicate. And I use a press cloth for any pressing along the way.
I didn't press the final dress before taking a picture...sloppy me...but it was Friday night and I was exhausted.

The dress is gorgeous. I love the material. This would look fantastic with stilettos. Oh how I wish I could still wear heals, but too much damage to the legs for that.
