I LOVE my little matchbox house! I was telling fibreartist4life that I had a horrendous day yesterday, but came home to find that in our mailbox.  I was beyond thrilled!  (And seriously, how cute is that little spindle? I love it!) There is also a teeny tiny little doornob and key in there that I am completely obsessed with.  When I say tiny, I mean tiny. It's incredible.  Thank you again for swapping with me Susan!

And I love that black cat shakable box! That's a brilliant idea! Cheesy

I am constantly amazed! The kitten is absolutely adorable, the house is inspired, and the goodies inside both of them are so fun!

The world's smallest spindle inside the world's tallest matchbox! I love it!

Melladh, can you explain about shaking the kitten box? Does part of it move?

Well, when she said she likes cats and knitting, I immediately had a vision of a kitten tangled in yarn, trying to look very innocent, with a lot of chaos going on... Grin

So my idea was this:
Frame with puff paint, and allow to dry. Put another layer of puff paint on top of the first one, put glitter and cut out "yarn balls" in the middle, and put a sheet of projector/overhead plastic (cut to size) on top. Then put more puff paint on it to cover the edges of the plastic.

I let it dry for double the time before touching it again, so the sealed bits of puff paint would cure as well and not EAT the contents... However, I messed it up and forgot to put stuff inside before putting the plastic down, so I had to lift it again - that's why the black bit is so smudgy, and it works slightly worse than it should have!  Embarrassed

Then I glued the kitten on top of the box (the yarn ball next to the paws is attached to the kitten image).

...thus producing shaker box Smiley You can see some glitter and yarn balls in different positions in this shot (and the glare of the plastic..) http://farm6.static.flickr.com/5244/5378362517_92036de957.jpg

And now I'm afraid the other box I sent will not measure up, because my vision for that one looks less advanced  Undecided
