My mom's birthday is on Valentine's Day. I always have problems either making or buying gifts for her. She does not like the color red, loves the color purple and green. Her favorite flowers are Iris, and she drinks tea.

In the past I have made her jewelry like beaded bracelets and such. I can crochet, sew, I'm teaching myself to knit, and I can make jewelry.

Any suggestions on what I can make her?

Thanks in advance for any help Smiley

Cowls and fingerless gloves are the rage nowadays - you can use any color you (or she) likes !

Just as a note to remember, try to forget that her birthday is on Valentine's Day. Speaking from experience, it really can be pretty lame to get V-day themed birthday presents; my birthday is V-day, too, and it's pretty annoying to get a bunch of red heart stuff for my birthday! If it's for Valentine's Day that's one thing, but don't say, "Here, for your birthday I got you these sweetheart candies or other Valentine-themed thing!" Yeah. Lame. So try to separate the birthday from the V-day. That might make it easier to come up with something (at least in the sense that it narrows down the whole idea process... I think...)

I've been on a big sewn wall art kick lately; pick a theme, like a sheep or something, come up with a drawing you like, and basically turn it into felt. Frame it and BOOM, you've got an easy, quick, customizable gift that usually goes over pretty well Smiley
