I'm so proud of my sister for learning how to knit, (and so tired of her losing things and borrowing my stuff!) so for christmas I made her a knit kit.  It's made of those little Johnson & Johnson travel first aid kits.  Bigger than an altoid tin, so it definitely holds tapestry needles and cable needles too. I used hemp string, elmers glue, and decoupage.  You can't really see them in this pic, but I added little clear jewels on top for treasure.  She went absolutely bananas.  It was totally worth the gluey fingers. I also put little glass pebbles on the bottom for feet, but I didn't get a picture that showed them.

(Her cigarettes, not mine...yech!)

All loaded up and ready to knit! The yellow dog thingees in there are the Hiya Hiya puppy snips.  They're the tiniest scissors I've ever seen, and they're AWESOME.  I highly recommend them.  Popsicle stitch markers are from Scary Merry over at etsy. Smiley Also included were a vintage tape measure, a needle gauge pendant (if she loses that, I will KILL her!), and knit dots.  They have k2tog, ssk, psso, stuff like that on them.  They're awesome.

im not a knitter so i have no idea what that stuff is, but i do however love the pirate theme, being a pirate myself.  those little popsicles are too cute.
i never thought to use the first aid case instead of an altoids tin. so clever!

alpha: they're little stitch markers that say "k2tog, psso, yo" etc... they're super handy for keeping track of what you're supposed to do at a particular stitch.  My sister LOVED them.

This is wonderful. It would be wonderful even if it didn't have a pirate theme, but a pirate theme is always a plus. I definately need one. Has anyone else in Craftsterland created a kit? I would love to see what you chose to put in them.

What is the pink thing. I used to have one as I kid and wanted to buy one again but can get them anywhere. I am in the uk which does not make finding stuff easy.
