I've been working on this house on and off since the Little House of Everyday Wonders. This one is inhabited by a stargazer.

The outside...

There's an old wooden spool of thread on one side of the door...

... and a box of lavender on the other.

The sides...

The roof is made with bark and moss and there are a load of things hiding up there. Mushrooms, acorns, a lucky penny and even a four leaf clover.

The inside of the house has four rooms.

The living room

The rug is made from a reclaimed fur cuff.

The striped thing there is a needle case and that wee sword is one of my favourite finds of the summer. I have a whole set of the things... I imagine they are supposed to be for pickles Smiley

The kitchen

The drip from the pump into the shell sink is one of my favourite things in the house.

The bedroom with it's altoid tin bed...

... and birthday candle lighting.

Lastly, there's the observatory.

The telescope is just a rook, an earring part, and rolled paper... terribly high tech.

Another one of my favourite things... the pencil. Made from a toothpick! (to make a pencil see below... http://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=369861.msg4348675#msg4348675)

I have two more houses waiting for some love and there are a few more ideas in my head for little places... but it'll probably be another 6 months till I get around to the next one Smiley

To make a wee pencil. Grab a regular old toothpick and cut...

Grab some paints. The closer you can get the colours to typical pencil colours the better it will look.

Paint everything but the pointy bit yellowy orange.

When that dries dip the flat in grey/silver paint.

If it's a bit thick you can roll the end on a bit of paper to take off the excess... but it'll probably dry fairly flat.

Once that's dry dip the very end of the flat end in pink.

Lastly, colour the very tip with black.

Ta da! You have a wee pencil!

Mine is very sloppy, I did it quick as can be, but you get the idea Smiley
