Swap-O-Rama-Rama Chicago
February 12, 2011 9am-5pm (Times subject to change)
Chicago Waldorf School
1300 W Loyola, Chicago
www.swap-il.com

Swap-O-Rama-Rama is a clothing swap and series of do-it- yourself workshops in which a community explores creative reuse through recycling. Help save the environment (and get a new spring wardrobe). Bring in those forgotten clothes, swap them for something new and then get creative! You get access to everything from sewing machines to silk screens, and all the supplies and coaching youll need to make new outfits, bags, jewelry and more. If youre fashion-independent, green-minded, or DIY-centric, this is for you!

Armed with a bag of clothes from the back of your closet, hundreds of crafters will descend on the mecca of clothing remake-reuse-recycling that is Swap-O-Rama-Rama. The mountain of clothing in one corner provides the materials and table after table of experienced crafters with ideas and direction provide crafters and would-be crafters with the creative outlet to make a new wardrobe, a dashing accessory, or a funky stuffed toy. Whether an experienced seamstress or a newly inspired crafter, there is something for everyone at Swap-O-Rama-Rama. This is a great place for parent and child to work together as well as a group of friends to spend the day creating.

Last year volunteer crafters provided direction and inspiration for making tote bags, leggings, silk screening, embroidery, dying. This year will bring much of the same and more! All of the materials that crafters need will be available and food will be provided for purchase by the Waldorf School.
