I came across this think the other day

And being a newbie knitter and wanting to get a feel to working and getting my speed up I wanted to do something like this. Now I don't live in the UK and I think shipping there from the US would be a little out of my price range... I figured maybe I could use the same pattern for my local shelter. I was thinking maybe a square a day? Or a few a week at least. I'll do a test run of the paw block later to see how long they take me.

Let me know if anyone is interested!!

I would love to! I'm definitely an animal person and always wished I could do more to help shelter animals. I have a special soft spot for cats, since mine was a rescue cat, and she kind of owns me.
I'll go home and knit a square tonight and see how long it takes. I'd like to do a couple at least to donate to a local shelter.
Great idea; thanks for the link to the pattern!

Me 2.  Have always adopted and regularly donate food, etc.  shelters and rescues around these parts frequently request blankies.  Love the pattern.  I only have wool and wool blends, but am sure they will accept.  The dog in the pattern is a DEAR. what a beautiful face.  Now I have to go hug my wonderful boy  (my dog, that is)
