For Christmas I received a book on embroidery, so I promptly started a sampler! my first foray into needlework!  Grin
I am very proud and want to show it off so I think I might use it to make a wallet. Any other ideas?

Very nice! A wallet would be good, but you could also attach signatures to it to make your own book. I think Teesha Moore has some tutorials about that since she makes a lot of fabric journals, though it's possible she just has "this is how to make the covers" stuff, which you've already got done, sort of Cheesy

Fun!  What book?  I'm looking for something for a beginner so I don't have to google stitches all the time!

I like this!  It's nice to see an embroidery sampler, and I like that it's at a diagonal.  I think a little zippered pouch would be best for it!

I love the colors. This is going to look super cute, whatever you end up deciding to do with it. Smiley
Could you describe some of the stitches? I'm recognizing some, but not all of them. Smiley

@ EVERYONE! Thank you all so much! You have encouraged me to post on here more often  Grin

@ craftydiem: The book is called Embroidered Effects, and it has good explanations of all the tools and fabrics and threads, and anything else a beginner needs to know. I personally found it very useful as a beginner because the author talks about things I would never have considered. It also has a lot of really cool inspiring patterns! I would defiantly recommend this book. I used about 80% of the stitches from the book in my sampler.

@ gumption: Thanks! to be honest I did the diagonal so that some of the more tedious/difficult stitch lines would be shorter, but in the end I really like it. I have been needing a change purse (all my change gets lost) so I will defiantly consider a zippered pouch, Thanks!

@ GrumasaurusRex: is there a specific stitch? Some of them don't have names, and one I made up. I would be happy to try to describe them to you.
