Slices down one side and use it to keep paper and fabric rolled up with no tape!

slice down them and use them to keep cables tidy?

my limited experience of gerbils is that you can fill the entire cage with cardboard tubes and they will still all be gone by the morning, so if you know anyone else who has gerbils you could give them your cardboard tubes.
if not, recycle them.

You could make sidewalk chalk with the rolls Smiley Get some Plaster of Paris and mix it up, add some tempra paint, fill the toilet paper rolls with it and let it harden, when it is dry it makes good chalk for kids when you take the cardboard off Smiley

Paper rolls are great for sprouting plants. This is not really a crafty use for the rolls, but it is pretty practicle.

1. Cut rolls into 3-4" sections.
2. Put four 1" slits in one end and fold the flaps over to create a bottom.
3. Put duct tape on the outside to seal the bottom.
4. Fill the tube with soil and plant your seed.
5. Keep the seed moist so that it can sprout and develop a root sysem.
6. When your plant is ready to pot simply remove the tape and put the entire thing in your pot. The cardboard will biodegrade and your plant will grow.

In Jane Magazine a few months back, I saw a bunch of rolls (all different sizes) placed together, and then glued, and painted - in this case they were red - and then used as a sort of a funky fruit.. uh stand? It was very cool.

I saw an old Christopher Lowell epi where he took paper tubes and made them to look like bamboo. It looks like he used fabric bolt tubes but mini ones would look pretty cool!
