I heard my "partner" went bead shopping yesterday for the Anthropologie swap and fabric shopping today for the mug rug swap. I am pretty excited to see what happens.  Wink

OK, I wasn't going to do this, but I've been seeing the practice mug rugs people have been making and I can't deny their cuteness anymore.

My "partner" said to prepare myself:  My gnome David will be returning with a new shiny outfit to show off in the garden in 2011 along with a couple of other additions.  I can't wait!

Can't wait to see it! I was tempted to fake join the gnome swap, too, but my garden isn't exactly gnome-ready.

I was thinking of making my partner's mug rug with a section of oil cloth. That can come into contact with food, right?

Oooh, that sounds cool.  I like oilcloth, it reminds me of summer.  I don't see how it'd be a problem, I know they had it in Martha Stewart for lunch bags, etc.

You should fake join, after all, not everything gnome related has to go to the garden.  Bookmarks, stamps, paper crafts, paintings, fiber art, etc, all kinds of things can be used to make gnome items!

Yep! They often suggest oil cloth for lunch bags.
