I made this for my husband's stepfather's daughter.  (Step-sister in law?) for Christmas.  She loved it and wore it the whole evening! Smiley  I used this great tutorial http://mmmcrafts.blogspot.com/2009/06/basic-messenger-bag.html.

It was my first purse and I pretty much made it out of desperation that she wouldn't like the cowl and wrist-warmers I had crocheted (but she did!)

That fabric is gorgeous! Where did you get it from?
I think the bag really shows it off well, too, and I'm glad she liked it.

Oh thanks!  I got a huge bag of fabric from a friend of my dad's who is crafty and recently moved and is destashing!  She has picked up remnants of home decor fabric and so there was a bunch of that.  I made most of my gifts this year out of the fabric she gave me!

The bag turned out great, thanks for posting the tutorial you used. I will try it out and post pics once I'm done.
