"Pooka" Cushion Critter - DIY Pillow Pet Clone (with pattern link)

I've been meaning to post this on here.  My daughter wanted to buy another Pillow Pet, but I talked her out of it.  Instead we whipped one up in one evening.  And, it doesn't shed near as bad.  

Meet Stitch, named after the small blue alien in "Lilo and Stitch".



It was very simple to make.  I used polar fleece and actually sewed the head into the body, so I didn't need to do as much hand stitching.  Just had to sew up a small stuffing hole.



I was going to put doll eyes on it, but we both agreed it looked better without.

this is great... our pillow pet went flat after 2 washes..... boo boo.... urs is nice and fluffy!!!!

mexi, can you try to restuff yours?  You could try pulling our the old stuffing and fluffing it back out or buy new stuffing to add to it.  That's one thing I don't like about poly stuffing.  A few years back I found already made pillows that were cheaper and fuller than the stuffing from the craft section.  I packed it really tight so it won't go flat anytime soon.    If I make another, I might try stuffing it with an extra old feather pillow we have here.  That'll be a luxury Cushion Critter!

Tropic_Rose, yep.  Daughter adores it.  As I've heard others complain, Pillow Pets haven't made any bunnies that weren't pink n' girlie.  So she was ecstatic to have a pet made exactly how SHE wanted it.  I'm afraid the Monkey Pillow Pet she already had has been set aside.  She said the longer fur was tickling her nose.

You just reminded me that the night we made this pooka pillow, my daughter asked to put a heart in it like the build-a-bears have.  So, we made a tiny red polar fleece heart pillow and sewed it in with the stuffing.  I totally forgot about it until you said that.  LOL!!!    Now, it just needs a brain and some courage.  Har har
