I need some help!  I own a little doggie daycare (for dogs 20 lbs and under) and I just found out today that FOUR of my clients are pregnant!!!!! - All due within the same time!  Any ideas what I can do for a dog related baby gift(s)?  Thanks in advance you amazing crafsters!

Embarrassed I hope this isn't a stupid question but I'm confused - the doggies are pregnant or the owners are?

Wow, I am a maroon! It is the owners that are pregnant!  Sorry!

< giggle > I'm glad I didn't reply then, I had an idea for a doggie gift but I don't think it would be much use for a human mom-to-be!!  I'm pretty lazy with stuff like that - I always go to Babies R Us on amazon and get stuff off their wish list & wrap it up with a handstamped card.

Maybe you could pick up some plain onesies and baby blankets & embellish them with dog images in embroidery, fabric paint, or stamping?  I know there are some rubber stamp companies that make stamps of all the dog breeds - maybe you could make something with a dog that really looks like their dog.  I bet they would *love* that. You could also do something more general like repeating patterns of dog bones & spots.

Your avatar is adorable, by the way - and I totally envy your job - dogs are the best!! Smiley

Ha! The poster posed the same question to the craft forum on craigslist and I suggested almost the exact same thing. Great minds I guess! http://forums.craigslist.org/?ID=28506902

Even easier-- find dog-theme flannel fabric, cut into large square, serge or zigzag edges. Ta Da! Lightweight baby blanket-- great for summer babies. (I loved mine.)
