This is a throw I made for charity. Each stripe is one skein of Red Heart. It has taken me several months to complete it, since my cat attacked it along the way, and I was so upset, I just threw it (the throw, not the cat)  into the closet without checking for damage.  When I released it from it's closety prison many months later, (again-the throw, not the cat) I found that there wasn't very much damage after all.  This surprised me, since it had been dragged across a very un-vaccuumed floor by a critter with very un-blunt fangs.  Anyway, here it is, with its feline offender as well:

I love this afghan, the colors are gorgeous together! What type of stitch/pattern is this?

My kitties usually don't attack my work, they just like to rub on my hooks while I'm working, haha!

Great work! Cheesy

You misunderstood Kitty's efforts.  It (the throw) was for charity so of course he had to be sure that it was durable.  Check the throw more closely... there's an "inspected by Cat" label on there somewhere now.

Then again, with that claiming paw, Kitty might demand the beautiful throw be given to him.

Great job!  (Both of you!! Smiley

beautiful throw! what stitch is that?

My kittys are known for taking off with m projects and balls of yarn.  Evil little beasties. Love em muchly, but when I see something on the floor I know it's them Smiley  Your Kitty looks as though he (she?) doesn't want to let that go!

Thank you for all your kind comments.  Your lighthearted humorous remarks made me giggle.

OK--Here's the stitch pattern, which I got out of an old book entitled "Creative Needle Crafts."

Daisy Stitch:

Make an even number of ch plus 1.

Base Row:  1sc into third ch from hook (1sc , ch, 1sc) into next ch (called 1sc group), *skip 1 ch, 1sc group into next ch, repeat from * to last ch, 1sc into last ch. Turn.

Pattern Row:  Ch2, * 1sc group into center ch 1 space of next 1sc group worked in previous row, repeat from * to end, 1sc into top of turning ch. Turn. Rep pattern row throughout.

Happy stitching!
