I know that I've received a surprise ball before in a swap, but it was years ago. I would like to host a swap for surprise balls. Information on what a surprise ball is can be found here:

Anyone interested???

In the surprise balls we could add small crafts that we've completed for our partners, de-stash small items, include a "one skein" pattern to use the yarn that the ball is wrapped in.

For non-knitters/crocheters the ball can be wrapped in fabric ribbon, paper ribbon, bias tape, crepe paper.

Any other ideas??

I was interested then and I am still interested now.  I love surprise balls myself but would love them even more if they included cool goodies rather than generic cheap ones.

OOOOO....
The ones I usually get have been crepe paper, I love the idea of ribbons and lace trim!!!  I have never done the Magic Yarn Ball swap because it always appeared to lean towards knitters/crocheters (I could be wrong) and I am neither.  Of course I could still use some chunky yarn (both in natural hair colors or fun colors) for doll hair...I suppose.

dogsarecool started another thread about Surprise Balls/Magic Yarn Balls as a potential swap. kayrun hosted the 14th Magic Yarn Ball Swap.
