Checking in! I finished my practice rug over the weekend and my computer is soooo slow it took me this long to post it.  Okay, maybe not, but it feels like it! So there are a couple of wonky spots, but I learned a lot in the process.  And I tested it out with a mug of cocoa tonight and it worked just fine Wink

I've got all the fabric for my partner's rug and some of it is cut, but I keep changing my mind on the design... Hmm...

CraftyDiem's mugrug is on the way to her! It was a VERY FRUSTRATING experience at the postoffice. I don't know why they can't think there. I accidentally put a priority mail label on the envelope and the guy wouldn't cover it up for me. I kept telling him it wouldn't come off the envelope and he just told me that I had to go buy a new envelope! Finally one of the other mail people told me she had a sharpie marker and I could just scribble it out. 15 minutes of my life spent arguing with that man! (thankfully a friend of mine was with me and was watching my kids!)

I can't wait for her to receive it!!

Oh and I'm so jealous of the SUI-ers. I'm a notorious lightweight and will try to sew while drinking but it doesn't ever go very well. plus I get sleepy pretty fast so I go slow, triple think everything and then give up. (usually to redo it in the morning)

hahaha!  Cheesy  I (try to) cut myself off around 10pm; many mistakes are made after that hour of the evening, especially after a full day of work then sewing.  I've learned that as soon as I make a mistake/break the thread/break the needle/need to rewind the bobbin/etc and it's late, it's time to stop and pick it up again the next day.  Saves me from a lot of seam ripping.  Cheesy

Looking for a vintage magazine (1974 - 1978) that has a fabric nativity set w/ people and animals. An example: http://www.craftster.org/pictures/showphoto.php?photo=440861&ppuser=143144.

I can craft half the night, even after work, just don't make me do anything in the morning... Cheesy That's how I broke troublet's rug's first binding Sad

As I went to check my son's homework after dinner, I notice his homework planner says he has a classroom Valentine's party tomorrow!  What?! I hadn't gotten any notice, or a list of all the kids names. I was so unprepared (which makes my son unprepared, also)! I had just assumed the party was on Monday. Guess that's what I get for assuming!
I frantically starting brainstorming ideas I could pull off with the supplies I had on hand.  I finally settled on an idea and got to work. I did manage to finish all 28 valentines, but unfortunately, it took up all my crafty time tonight. No mug rugs for me Sad
Maybe tomorrow I can finish them up while the kids are in school. *fingers crossed*
