I really like this pattern, you know, one of these days, I will stop making them for everyone else, and get my own done. Here are two more I made, one for a Christmas gift, and the other was a baby shower gift.

The pink one is Red Heart itchy and scratchy yarn, killed with a steam iron to soften it up, which worked beautifully. The blue one is Dallas Cowboys themed and made with "Hobby Lobby's I Love This Yarn!", my nephews Daddy likes them for some reason, guess he's into losers. hahaha Thad's Mommy said Daddy wanted some Cowboys stuff for the nursery, but they just moved to Washington state for the military, and could not find anything, so I did my best.

The pattern can be found here, http://thekidneybean.wordpress.com/crochet-patterns/chromium-star-blanket/

I believe the blue one was 28 rows, and was made for a newborn, it seemed appropriate. The pink one is huge though, I don't even remember how many rows I put into it, i just wanted it to stretch across my king size bed.

i think i'm on round 21 atm, so it's good to know i'm nearly there, though i may make it a bit bigger than the standard newborn size just so it lasts a bit longer, i'm working with baby yarn, which is lovely and soft but a bit thinner than average yarn, oh well, i have months to go before it's actually needed

I just started making my first chromium star blanket (for a friend's baby) last night and was wondering if anyone had made a bigger one (for me, to be made later!) I am glad to see that you were able to make a big star, I feel better knowing someone else has made a big one Smiley

Thanks for sharing! They are beautiful.

OMG the biggest ones I have seen so far are here, http://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=317275.0 and here, http://www.ravelry.com/projects/lurv2knit/chromium-star-blanket . I'm not sure if I will one day make a rainbow or purple and black one for myself.

Thanks for posting the link - I just was trying to look at the pattern link posted on the tutorials page and it is currently broken. I like the idea behind the Cowboy ones (agreed on the sucking haha) so now I am inspired to make one for my nephew in WI, probably a Packers themed one.
