I usually make small projects (mostly because I get bored) but love the lace shawls a see everywhere. I made one a while ago and it was a frustrating experience so its been a while since i've cast on for something this involved. I thought I would take this opportunity to make a shawl that i've had in my head for a while, so here it is! It was a marathon knit from start to finish, and a better experience than my first shawl.

The pattern is Swallowtail shawl from knitty.com. I modified it a bit because I wanted to include different colors. The main part is a silk mix, and it feels wonderful next to the skin. Also a made it a bit smaller, so that I would be able to finish it.

I used my new dress form that I got for Christmas (yay) to model!

I had a lot of fun coming up with different ways to wear it

That's gorgeous, and looks like a lot of work! I wish I could knit fast enough to want to actually finish a big project like that.
