I am just finishing my 1st craftster swap and my children really got into it (twilight scavenger hunt, but i used to swap alot on a polymer clay board) . My almost-10 yr old son said he would love to do a kids Harry Potter swap and I said I would see if that's possible.

I saw the "must be 16+" rule but this would be for parent/adult-craftster-member to do with child. The adult would be responsible, handle shipping, get the feedback etc, but all the crafts would be kid-appropriate and the children can get in on the act. My son immediately came up with such clever craft ideas that I would LOVE to get something like this going. the quetion form would include the child's interests, shirt size, etc but still keep the child anonymous for safety's sake, it would still all be through the Craftster member's name/account. Has it been done?? He suggested we do this in early summer once school ends. I would like to try it with a small group, maybe 10 swappers.

**UPDATE** it's been pointed out that Kid's Swaps have been done successfully a number of times. If anyone is interested in a Harry Potter specific swap for kids let me know!!

(btw -accidentally posted this is a different wrong section, sorry for the duplicate, hoping the other gets deleted!)

I believe something like this has been done before.  I'll find the link to one of the kids swaps. http://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=350582.0

I'm waiting for the next kids swap too. My son asked if he could do a swap and I told him we'd join the next kids one.

thanks for the info,i checked out one of the galleries. i guess the idea of just doing Harry Potter might not attract enough people? I will wait for summer and hopefully the kid's craft swap will happen again

Yeah..my kids LOVED the kids swap..

I think the HP theme maybe too narrow for a kids swap but it's something that you could totally hook up with your partner about...

We've done the kids swap the past 2 years..love to see how much all the kids have grown Smiley

I would rename your title to Harry Potter kid swap..
I have a couple of very young cousins whose first "novels" were harry potter, I wouldn't be surprised if you get  a following. Smiley

I'd have to talk to my son but I think I could get him in to this.

We've been really into teaching my boys to do various craft projects here. And if you do get a HP themed one going I'd love to do this with my son. In fact, we might be interested in a number of different themes.
