I stopped at Scrap this summer and got a giant bag of alpaca fiber (needs a little cleaning), other people's pictures and slides, dental xrays, canvas paper and a bunch of other stuff.  That place is the bomb!

Scrap
2915 NE Martin Luther King Blvd
Portland, OR 97212
Neighborhood: Northeast Portland

(503) 294-0769

If anyone does go to Portland..at all I think..they should go here.  It is a recycling depot like none I have seen.  They have 2 huge tubs marked "OTHER PEOPLES PICTURES".....and 1960 Fabric when I was there.  A HUGE wall of shelves of magazines.  I got 3 bags of jewlery bits and pieces for around 4 bucks each

I Love this place.  Seriously.   Its a great place. Theres also a place called Knittn Kitten which sells old patterns, fabric, beads, and yarn.  Its no where near as cheap as Scrap but they have some neat stuff.

We had hoped to stop at Knittn Kitten too but it was closed.  So we went for cocktails and french pastries instead Cheesy

Wouldn't this be a great souvenir for a crafty meetup like this! --

YES! I saw that on craftgawker.com yesterday and wisted it immediately Smiley.

We're in the final stages of honeymoon planning and it's looking like we'll be gone for a couple of weeks in July and I'm hoping that it won't conflict with any meetups. Is it terrible that I'm trying to coordinate my honeymoon around my Craftster friends Grin?

Oh oh oh!!  I would so love to come too!  My cousin lives in Portland and she always wants me to come visit so this would be the perfect time!  I have a minivan I can load up with anyone along the way from Southern Cali on up to Portland!!  I love Scrap!  Went there when I was up for a surprise trip for my 30th birthday, almost 2 years ago!  Unfortunately, I got sick that day so I wasn't able to truly enjoy the joy that is Scrap but I did leave my mark in the neighbor's yard next door (eww gross).  I would love to travel back to get more goodies.  My cousin sends me care packages from Scrap every birthday and Christmas but it isn't the same as going myself!!  I am excited and would love to be able to come!
