I'm not working on anything from my list right now. I have one quilt just about done with leftovers from the last quilt and I started a baby quilt! I couldn't resist getting one made even though my little Hamster isn't due until May! Fetuses can get Christmas gifts right?!

they certainly can alwaysinspired!

I WILL finish at least two more quilts from my list this year (I know I've only done one so far and its November...) but I am making two baby quilts for Christmas presents, so have to be done, all I have to do now is wait for my fabric... even with shipping, I bought 11yds of fabric on etsy (included some Dr Seuss, Robert Kaufman prints and kona solids) for about the same it would have cost me to get 4m of Dr Seuss here in Australia. So now I just have to wait.... should give me at least all of December! :S

a question for those of you who sell your lovely quilts, if you find a pattern on a website thats out there for all to see without paying, is it generally free to use to make quilts to sell? I am planning to use the stashbuster pattern posted by someone (sorry can't remember who) earlier this year - which I've prob told you all before - http://buttonberry.blogspot.com/2011/05/stashbuster-quilt-tutorial.html and I can't see anywhere they've said you can't sell it. So if I find them relatively easy to make up I thought I might have a go at making a few to sell (I just think its a cute quilt). I've seen other patterns online with instructions too so was just wondering.

thanks!

I personally can't see any problem with it, its rectangles, not a really specific design. I say go for it.

That's just a log cabin built from the corner, so I don't see how they could have any rights to it! Especially if you change the size of your pieces. In general though I think it's proper etiquette to not sell something from a free pattern unless the owner gives you permission. When in doubt, change it slightly to make it your own.

woohoo! I'm on the list! how did that happen? I've only made one quilt off my list... I have excellent timing! Smiley

thanks for all the replies re selling quilts. I meant to say I was planning to use the stashbuster for the baby quilts, not that I was just planning to start using it to sell straight up. I made my own and my sisters nappy bags, adapted from a normal tote bag pattern that I bought (I saw pattern and thought "hey that would be cool!" instead of thinking "hey maybe there is a pattern for a nappy bag I can buy!" and making it easier on myself!) I got heaps of compliments on the bag for my sis at her shower saying I should sell them, so had been toying with the idea of doing that and possibly doing coordinating quilt, so you can keep in the car for out and about. Anyways, point is I've been on the lookout for a simple pattern. Now to start looking at how to rejig. Smiley thanks

Oh!! CaN I join?? I have so many quilts to do, though I think I will stick to finishing 1 right now. My scrappy "Chaos" quilt. The blocks are actually done, I just need to find all the pieces (they got separated from each other), then quilt it together. It's my first attempt at a "quilt as you go" quilt. At least I think that's what the process is called.
