I'm so excited!  Thank you quilting gods and goddesses!
At 5:30 in the morning when my teething 5 month old has me up for a long day of crankiness (his and mine), this is wonderful news!

Hey guys!  I am so proud!!  I have a small lap quilt top to show off!  Sadly,  I also have the world's worst photography skills so I promise this thing is cuter in real life.

I just need something to cover my legs when we're sitting, and I hate carrying a big blanket around with me all the time.  I'm going to use a thin batting or maybe even a piece of material so it's not too puffy.  Not sure about a backing yet, and I still need to trim it down and even it up, but I was so excited to share!

I don't know if you can tell but it's made up of 9 ten inch wonky log cabin blocks.  I am planning on getting better pictures of it, taken by someone else of course, when it's done.  I'm so excited I think I might finish it this weekend!

BethieB that is soo CUTE!  Personally I like the wonky edge LOL.  I did a quilt "shawl" that I love  I just used a nice heavy flannel on the back and no batting....well I called it thread and air batting heheeh.  If you want to see

I like it because it is drapyer then it would have been with batting (at least most battings...I really want to try bamboo)

It's definitely adorable Grin

To all past swap partners....If something I made you fell apart in some way, it would be helpful to me if you PMed me and told me about it.  Sometimes, I try new things, and if they fail, it helps me to know

Cute BethieB! Is that the cute top or the finished quilt? If it's finished how do you do the wonky edges?

suereal-that is beautiful! Love it! You definitely have to try bamboo batting, it's so expensive but I love it, it feels wonderful!

MareMare - it's just the top, not finished yet.  I wish it was though, the hardest part is finishing anything these days, lol!

suereal - I'm off to check that link right now, sounds so interesting!

Great wonky log cabins!  Love the colours!

I'm having issues with the colours on my quilt.  This is on the design wall right now.  Full advice-seeking post with details here:

The quilt so far:

I guess the big thing is this is my first full size quilt, and I wanted to be wowed by the colours, and I'm not sure.  Maybe after a night's sleep...

I LOVE IT! I read your post looking for advice and agree with the discussion there, if you aren't into the mustardy colouring you should switch it up but I personally LOOOOVE the mustard colour!

What I'm saying is.. if you take it out, you should totally send me your cut blocks and I will certainly find a quilt they look good in!  Wink

Thanks!  I think I'll go with the mustardy-ness, and add more reds.  I think I might start the placement from scratch tomorrow.  I quite enjoyed the process, except when my toddler wanted to help!
