Thanks guys.  its the juicebox pattern by cluck cluck sew.  The small squares are actually part of the block, so it's a lot of cutting.  The pattern says its "baby size" and 36x42, but I didn't actually measure it myself

Finished my first quilt! Inspired by the scrap strip block swap, made this mostly out of stash (except the backing)
Size approx 30in x 38in

I will probably add more quilting between the circles, but havent really decided on what yet, im counting it as finished anyways

i love the look of the strips with sashing... why have i never thought to do that?

i have 4 baby quilts ready to sandwich (tomorrow) and i got the rest of the fat quarters i needed for my loud rectangles... then i will be finishing both rectangle quilts for the back room reno.  it's cccccold back there.

ok, so I've been totally not keeping up my end of the bargain of this craftalong and have done NOTHING crafty... I will use the excuses of a) being 6 months pregnant and unmotivated to do anything even though I have HEAPS to do b) we are still trying to get the baby's room painted before worrying about frivilous things like hand made soft furnishings and c) the heat we are having at the moment is ridiculous and has added to my unmotivation.

Ok excuses aside, I have been *thinking* more about some of my quilts and I think I am going to use my jelly roll to make a trip around the world. And my mum has been trying to beat her sisters to some of my gran's massive stash (she's been in a high care home for quite a while now so they have decided to start sorting out some of her stuff) and managed to get 4 squares (maybe 40cm2?) of a clown picture with red, green, blue and yellow. She showed them to me and said she grabbed them because she thought they might be good to make a wall hanging in the babies' rooms (mine and my sister's babies that is) but I suggested that if we could find some cooridinating fabrics (I'm postive we can) at my gran's we could use that as sashing around the squares and make a decent sized floor quilt for my parents to have for the babies at their place. The pictures of the clowns are all the same but I think it would make a cute play mat for littlies, don't you think?

I guess I should actually start doing some of this stuff.... maybe if I try really hard I could get one done for the Feb comp... if us here in Oz can be in the running
