The binding was my favorite part on the few quilts I've done, too.  I found the hand-sewing very soothing and controllable after wrestling with my sewing machine for so long.

I've finished quilting one twin size quilt and am about 1/2 done the second, perhaps I will complete them this week and next week I can finish the sheet sets, andthen maybe the pyjama's before Valentines day:)  with all the hearts, it seems like the perfect Valentines day gift

Looking for Mccalls 6337 sewing pattern, if you have a copy you'd be willing to share/give/sell please let me know.  The bag costs $60 and I think perhaps I could make it cheaper/

Snow day!

My machine is getting a tune-up so I've been sewing binding on some mini art-quilts and other hand-sewing.  I hope to have these done, hung up and posted next week!  So excited to finally have something on my dining room wall!

But first I have to shovel the driveway!  We're snowed in in Southern Ontario.  Anyone else shoveling then sewing today?

Perhaps joining the craftalong will help me actually make time to quilt along with grad school and everything else.  I don't know if I have a full 11 quilts or not, but I'll join up and post a partial list to be filled in later.

1. Wedding quilt for my cousin and her husband- Needs quilting and binding.
2. Wedding quilt for friends- Top is still not finished, needs the rest as well.
3. Baby quilt for my lead teacher- Not even started.
4. Wedding quilt for brother and his fiancee- Fabric is mostly cut.  Basically not started at all
5. Wedding quilt for another set of friends- This one will be either a tetris or a simple log cabin.
6. Car quilt for my fiancee-  Not started, need to find Ford fabric.
7. Black and batik magic lantern quilt- top is done.  This one has been sitting for a couple of years.  It's for me, of course.
8. Baby quilt for a friend's shower at the end of the month.  Not even started.  Will probably do a simple strip pieced quilt or squares.
9. Wedding quilt for my fiancee and I.  Not even started.  We have to pick the pattern yet.

Hmmm... I had a lot more than I thought.  On the plus side, I did finish two quilts that would have made it on the list in time for Christmas.  Smiley

Hey Linnybelle! Very adventurous of you while in grad school! Cheesy I'm excited to see all of these magic lantern quilts!

Here's the lantern pattern I was talking about a few pages back when someone mentioned it. This is from Monica/the Happy Zombie. She gave out color copies of it at a quilt guild meeting a while back!

The pdf takes a bit to load, but you can see it quicker here: fourth row down in the middle

Ooh, is anybody interested in a contest this month? Anyone who finishes a quilt off of their list can be entered into it and then I'll do a random drawing from those people. The winner will get some fabric!
