customs don't tend to worry about checking suitcases, they are more concerned with online shopping, within the EU there are no taxes, but sadly all the nicest FQ are in the US.

Any way you'd come up to Portland or is that a joke? We have this store called Fabric Depot that is seriously a couple of acres of fabric. kittykill and I had to take alteredmommy there when she visited over the summer and she had a blast!

That's good then! When I came back from Europe we had to declare if it was over a certain amount...mine was and I had to pay on it. My friends said I should've lied but I was too afraid they would open my suitcase, see all the stuff I bought and then I'd be in big trouble!

edelC - THAT IS SO BEAUTIFUL! Tell me the names of those fabrics PLEASEPLEASEPLEASE. The purple floral with the pink and the one with the round florals (in the bottom right corner) are particularly gorgeous!

I have recently found out that I can buy fabric online for half the price as it is in the store!? Shipping to Canada is still a bummer and I feel badly, like I should be supporting my local quilt shops, but the broke student in my cannot stop!

The ones that have been posted so far are gorgeous!  I can't remember who had it on their list but the Tempest quilt... I may have to try that.  It's lovely and my sister loves purple.

I may have to give up and admit that I've lost my quilting foot and buy a new one

I have planned out the quilts for my nieces and cut all the fabrics - they are the same quilts, so it will be repetitive, but they are going to be really cute, we chose the heart block and pink and purple fabrics

Looking for Mccalls 6337 sewing pattern, if you have a copy you'd be willing to share/give/sell please let me know.  The bag costs $60 and I think perhaps I could make it cheaper/

edelC - Beautiful quilt!  Love the colours!

Lieblings - I'm in Canada too, and I buy a lot of fabric online.  I want to shop locally too, but can't find what I want here!  There are a few Canadian online stores - Pink Panda Fabrics http://www.pinkpandafabrics.com/  ships free in Canada - she used to have a larger selection, but she does have a lot of Echino, if you like that, and her prices are pretty good.  Kallisti quilts http://www.etsy.com/shop/kallistiquilts has Japanese and African quilt fabrics, for decent prices, but you pay shipping.  But prices are cheaper in the U.S., just like you said!  Sometimes I wonder if I should have an online store, but I'm pretty sure my husband would have something to say about that!
