I am done!!!

*happy dance*

OK so there are a few puckers and the corners are not great...But I used some fabrics that I have been saving forever, they are bright and punchy in colour. I love the colour combinations..I just love love love it...and I even pieced a strip for the back and put a label on it with the date...I love it actually, it will have its own thread, once I can get my daughters new camera to talk to this computer!

I wanted to share this pattern for quilting lines that I just found with you all, I am going to be using it on my next quilt and think it is super cute (and just possibly simple enough for me to do) Grin

http://getyoursewon.blogspot.com/2011/01/wonky-argyle.html

Are you kidding me?!  This is perfect!  I love how simple the directions are and how she calls it 'driving'...and also the fact that you don't have to mess with lowering your feed dogs or looking for your stinkin' darning plate...lol.

Edel - can't wait to see it!!  You rock!  On a side note, I too have a serious addiction to FQ's.  Just can't help it.  And don't really wanna anyway.  Cheesy

It's the blog of a woman in my quilt guild, she is one of my favorite people there! She was the activities director last year, she came up with some really fun stuff!

OK, I'm in!  I will be doing a few big quilts, and many mini art quits!

I've only made mini quilts so far, until 2011...  Here's the list:

1. Quilt for our bed (like Postcards from the Park - Film in the Fridge)
2. Quilt made with the beautiful Echino fabrics I have been collecting
3.  2 Mini art quilts for dining room
4. Mini art quilt for kitchen - something round...
5. lap quilt
6. quilt for in-laws for Christmas (? - this may change)

That's all I have planned so far.  I know it doesn't stack up to what others are doing, but it's inspirational and motivating to be in a craft-along, so I can't wait to see how much I get done!  I have to clean up my craft space first though Sad

Has anyone seen this blog for free-motion stitching?  http://freemotionquilting.blogspot.com/
On the right you can click on "check out all the designs" to be amazed.  I had no idea what could be done when quilting!

In progress pic of my first quilt for the year Smiley

It is based on a design my DD liked on a doona cover we saw when out shopping! - but very much simplified

And like a crazy person I decided to do all the applique by hand... might get it finished by the end of the year !

So cute kwiltykate! Have you done a lot of applique? I've only done a bit, I'd love to hear some tips if you have any!

I finished two quilt tops last night! #2 and #3 on my list. One of them was almost done, it just needed two borders put on it. The other one I started and completed, but it was from Quilts for Kids so all the fabric was already cut out. I don't think I have enough batting to finish them but I'm going to see. If not I think I have a coupon hanging around for Joann's.

My goodness ladies! You're leaps and bounds ahead of me.

I am still piecing my first quilt top, trying to take it slow and not make any(more) silly beginner errors.

For the most part, this thread is keeping me so motivated! Unless it isn't, in which case it's the happy kind of procrastination (link lurking).
