Okay, I've finally convinced myself to jump aboard.

I'm a newbie quilter and really should be concentrating on schoolwork, so I'll be lucky if I make it anywhere close to 11 in 2011, but I hope to make it at least half-way.

1.  Finish the baby quilt I started in college and never got around to quilting
2.  Orange and blue quilt for kids - very simple, squares already cut.
3.  lap quilt or wall-hanging out of appliqued sea life blocks I made with my aunt
4.  Find a use for the dinosaur panel in my stash.  Who doesn't love dinos?
5.  Another quilt for kids out of the pastels/sweets fabrics in my stash.
6.  Blues!  I have so many collected, I need to do something with them.
7.  etc.  No idea at this point.

We'll see how this goes.

Seeking scraps! I'm in need of a variety of white on white scraps. (2.5inch square minimum) for pixel quilts. Have any? Swap for? PM me! Smiley

Progress pics...

I joined the 'scrap strip block swap' and loved making the blocks so much, I made a few for myself while waiting for all my blocks to arrive in the mail Cheesy

We found out last monday that our little one due in May is a girl!! So this is going to be her first quilt Wink

All the squares are going to have the 'target' quilting on them, still not sure what i will do with the border, but Im sure I will think of something!

That turned out so well Jennie! Love it!

Welcome gaudiknight! Your dinosaur panel reminded me that I have a rocket panel to use for my middle nephew. I found some ray-gun looking fabric in the same colors on clearance (remnant) to go with it!

Love it kwiltykate! I don't think I've seen those blocks before with sashing, it makes them look much more sophisticated!

kwiltykate - those scrappy blocks rock!  Love the way the sashing sets them off.  They are perfect!  You just inspired me...and you are seriously one of my most favorite quilters out there - so creative and talented!  Cheesy

Those scrappy strips are really pretty.  I now have a hard date a quilt has to be done.  The decided to throw a surprise shower for the girl at work who is due... so I have to have the quilt done by the 4th.  So I guess tonight I switch from the other baby quilt I started cutting pieces out for to this one.

Can anyone suggest some tutorials for finishing binding by hand?  I want to try it because it makes the backs of the quilts look so much neater
