do you have a crafty resolution this year? will you be the next julie powell (a la julie and julia)? how about taking after the yarn harlot and her self-imposed sock club? or maybe you'd rather follow adrienne martini down the rabbit hole and tackle that one pattern that you've been coveting but are too intimidated to try?

the idea of the craft-your-resolution craftalong is to pick a goal, then divide and conquer. here are some ideas:

complete at least one ufo (UnFinished Object) a month before starting something new
knit/cook/bead/crochet/sew/craft your way through a book of your choice
learn a new technique each month
try a __________-a-month club (sock, afghan square, cupcake, etc.)
divide and conquer your christmas list for this coming december
pick up a new craft and document your progress

anything you'd like! use this forum to share your progress, find motivation, and to get helpful tips from your fellow crafters.

me? i have two resolutions this year. one is to knit my way through the Fearless Knitting Workbook, and the other?

well, i did all my christmas shopping already for this coming year. crazy? yes. sometimes it takes a little crazy to get life into gear. each month, i'll pull out one of these bags of fabric and make singlet style shopping bags courtesy of our very own craftster tutorial.

so, what'd'ya think? will you jump onboard?

My crafting resolution is to craft my way through my insane stash.  no more shopping until I can get my stash into a reasonable amount of storage space.  So far so good, though interesting how I've had to get creative already.  I started around Thanksgiving.  Biggest Accomplishment with the resolution so far : gifts for teachers at daycare (6) were 100% from my stash and no additional purchases required!  Score!

I figured out what I wanted to do here!

I belong to a Fabric of the Month club for vintage kimono fabrics...needless to say, the fabrics are stacking up to the ceiling!  I have so many requests for the items I make from these fabrics, including shops that want to carry them but I have been putting them on the bottom of my list!

I want to use your idea, LadyLeitzen, of bagging up the pieces I need into projects and make at least one kimono fabric accessory a month!

YAY!

I have so many "quick little projects" stacked up (most have all the supplies ready, too) that I want to focus on actually doing them as well as the stack of mending that's built up.  I've kind of started in that I've made a couple of quick projects, but they weren't exactly ones from the stack.  Ahem. Undecided

I'd also like to bake more often this year (and at the same time eat better quality and less quantity, so...).

I have a milestone birthday this month and we're throwing a 200 Years Combined Experience Party:Me (40), ManFlesh's mom (60) our house (100) so much of my creative time will be going to that.  After January though... hopefully I'll remember my crafty resolutions.   Tongue

Other then to craft for me, and to destash, My other resolution that isn't related to crafting, but could be crafted, is to stay off the computer between 9am and 5 pm!  I'm back and forth here waaaaaaaaay to much(been here at least 5 times since I got up and it's only 12:30pm.  I've been up since 8.) and it is really getting in the way of my productivity and taking time away from my kids.. And turning it off sure doesn't deter me.  I'll just turn it on again!  So maybe I'll make a nifty cover for it to wear between 9-5 with some sort of message on it to remind me to stay away!

I have 2 big crafty resolutions this year....
the easy one is to knit 12 sweaters, so one per month.
The more difficult one is to start my master knitting certification program.

I'm ahead of schedule with the first, I finished my first sweater last night!

That is awesome!!! I can't even imagine knitting one sweater a year!

You will definitely be an inspiration and you will be making some headway into your stash as well!

I'll post pics soon, I'm waiting for it to dry...then sew buttons on, then done!!  I plan to cast on sweater number two sometime next week, I have to concentrate on a couple of swap items first.

Oh! and I thought of another goal...I want to learn to use my crafting machines.  I am sorta machine-phobic. (I don't even use my dishwasher)  I have a sewing machine that I've never used, and a dremel, better carding with my drum carder, and hopefully some new techniques with my spinning wheel.
