Cozy Thatched Roof Cottage

This is awesome. (This challenge is one of my favorites so far.) I LOVE LOVE LOVE your roof. I never would've thought of shredded wheat, but it adds so much texture and looks so cool.

This is such a sweet cottage! I love the window boxes filled with greenery - they add such a welcoming touch to the house.

This is adorable, and so creative!  I love all the different things you used to give the right textures to it.

I cut the window shapes out of the gingerbread before baking.  Once they are baked, I took crushed hard candy (DumDum lollipops to be exact) and fill the spaces.  Then put it back in the oven until everything is all melty and smooth.  For the larger picture window I used a sharp knife to swirl the colors while they were still hot.

I love your mini wheat roof - I want to use that idea for next year. It is almost hard to tell it is made of gingerbread. I'm so impressed!
