Please bear with me while I try to explain this... And I also hope this is the place to be for my question...Phew!

Christmas is over, all gifts have been unwrapped, and sometimes, whilst opening your gifts, you find unpleasant surprises...

My father, brother and I bought a steam tower for my mother, by Menu, a Danish brand. She saw it in a magazine and really wanted it. So we went out, and bought it for her. But, logically, we did not open the box in the shop, we just let the lady wrap it up, so we could leave. When mum openend the box, we soon discovered that everything was inside, except for the recipe book. And we know that it should have been there, because it is printed everywhere on the box: 'look inside for more ideas! Recipe book included'.

Now, what is a gift when you can't do anything with it? Steaming, okay, but with the three different layers... How much water should you use, where to put everything, etc.

Desperate for help, we turn to Craftster, hoping that anyone here has a Menu steam tower with recipe booklet. We mailed the company, hoping they would help us out, but so far, no luck... I'll include a picture, because I'm not even sure if you know Menu...

you could just go to the store and explain what happened, and get them to steal the recipe book from one of the other boxes.  that's what I would do.

Hihihi, sneaky.

I forgot to add, but we did contact the shop and asked if they still had the booklet. The lady answering was very nice at first, and went to check the other boxes. When she came back to the phone, she was almost rude and said that there was no recipe book included, end of call. Not so nice... To this day, the comapny has answered our pleads either...

Either way, Tarbella was a great help, and I printed it out. I'm guessing my mum would love to have the real thing still, but it's better than nothing. Now unto some steaming :p

Oh--what a nice steamer!!  I have a two layer one!  I never make anything fancy in mine--steamed dumplings mostly, veggies, fish...reheat rice, goyza, I printed the book to use with my steamer, so thanks! Cheesy

I got a rice cooker once that was suppose to have a recipe book in it but did not...yeah--the company was not much help at all...

What about Murhpy?

The company answered us today, and they will send an extra booklet soon. Tsk, and here I was, trying so hard :p.

Thank you all anyway!

um, no, because then the people working at the store could pull the one they took the recipe book from, and mark IT as the defective one.  I worked in retail, it would be no big deal.  Really.
