One of my partners and I have been picking each others brains everyday!  It's been so much fun.  I haven't heard anything from my second partner, although I've PM'd twice.

I can't seem to find the "real" match boxes, so I'm using the template. I started out using regular white cardstock, but it didn't seem very sturdy, and was rather boring looking. This is what I did instead:  I glued (modge podge) a sheet of scrapbook paper to the cardstock, then traced out the template.  I was amazed and very happy with the way it turned out!

Although I've learned alot about my partner, finding things to put in these tiny boxes are harder than I thought!  lol

Happy Crafting!

I just got your message here, Earthie.  I don't know what happened... When I correspond to swap partners, I do so through craftster...  I did check my email and there were no messages...  Though I do tend to avoid my email...  I just got the one PM through craftster yesterday...  That was the only PM!  I just sent you a PM back....  That was the only one I've gotten at all...  I'm sorry about the confusion!  You can brainstorm away with me too if you would like....  I'm usually kinda chatty by PM with my partnets, but last week I wasn't ready to craft yet, so I didn't send any questions out myself.  Besides writing down some ideas and printing out the template, I don't have anything done....
I don't know how the rest of you do it so quickly. (some of you are DONE?!?  REALLY?)  I wanted to start a bit of crafting last week but I had a birthday party to attend to that had been cancelled twice due to weather.  And a little girl who is too young to understand that just because her birthday party took place a whole month after her birthday, doesn't mean her birthday was a whole month long.  Ha.

I have collected all the stuff for the inside (and crafted) but am still working on the boxes themselves.  Fun stuff.  My box is so tiny!

I'm checking in...this weekend was not a good one for me- I lost my 20 year old kitty.  It was very rough.   Cry  I hope to get started this week, crafting does take me to a better place.   Smiley  I have found lots of lovely beauties to put in my boxes, tho!

You are kidding!!! Sad We just lost our 19 year old cat last weekend -- we have been utterly devastated. (See my avatar/photo/username.) I am so sorry onecrazymom. I know exactly how you feel, and it's just awful. Sending a hug from one cat parent to another!

And just so this post has something craft related, I made big strides on my matchboxes yesterday.  Hoping they dried overnight so I can move on to the next stage! And I found goodies to fill one of them, but am working on the other in that area.   Grin

Sorry for all the cat losses Sad Mine's been in trouble but he's at least ok.. (so I'm just exhausted from all the post-op care, but not unhappy) I've lost a fair amount of pets through life though, and it's always horrible.

On a crafty note I went by the craft store today and to pick something up that I need for one of the boxes, and naturally ended up buying four more things I just didn't realize I needed until I saw them Cheesy All might come in handy for this swap!

So sorry SonjaBoo to hear you lost a cat too.

On the crafty side....I WAS going to send today, but I had an epiphany at 2 am and decided the glue on something I made was not the ticket.  SO I opened the matchbox (even though I'm terribly worried that I will not be able to get it all back in..) and I'm glad I did, cause I had stuffed it so full it took me a bit to get it wiggled open.  I re glued the thingy and I am going to test it tomorrow to see how it is going.  AND, when I opened the Mbox I discovered one of the bits was broken cause of my enthusiastic stuffing Tongue

I just was over come by a desire to design a matchbox stuffing machine...kinda like a garbage compacter, but less dramatic Grin

SonjaBoo- how ironic!  I am so sorry you lost your cat. She was struggling in the last few days, but it is still hard. (She was with me for 1/2 my life, so I have been pretty devastated too!)   Thanks for the hug, and hug back to you!!)   Smiley

I am off work tomorrow, so I am planning on a day of craft-immersion therapy!!!!

Thank you suereal. Smiley

The visual of your matchbox stuffing machine strikes me as hilarious at the moment -- my husband is looking at me funny as I sit here and giggle at the laptop! Ha!

onecrazymom, I totally know what you mean -- I had my Sonja since I was 13! (We don't have to go into the math here as to how old that makes me...  Roll Eyes) Crafting has been my therapy too.  What would we do without paper, glue and paint?
