Crafted Notecards Swap (Sign-ups CLOSED, Sendouts Feb 2)

went to Joann's today to pick up 3 or 4 things to make my cards,
and....
walked out of there with over 60 bucks worth of stuff!
how in the world does that happen?
I think they spray a scent in there that mesmerizes you into buying
everything you see!

I so do that,... all the time!  Last time I was in a swap, in fact, I made my mom come with me and just 'escort' me to the proper departments, to defer me from going anywhere else and finding something that was really neat, but not quite necessary.  Didn't save a whole lot of time or money, but at least half I'm sure!

I made it to Joann's today (for quilt batting) and grabbed a pack of 20 blank cards and envelopes. $5 on sale 40% off! I didn't have any cardstock to make the card bases myself, so this seemed like good deal

not to mention all of the $1 sticker & rubber stamp bargains!

Just bought some fun rubber stamps on eBay. Not a big stamper, but these seemed like a bargain and good to have on hand! Must get to JoAnn's for $5 blank cards.

If any of you have a Hobby Lobby around, they have a 50-pack of white, cream or brown kraft blank notecards for $6.99, and if you have the 40% off coupon, it comes out to about $4.50 with tax. I love the brown ones.

So the Joann's cards end up being $3 after the sale price! I just checked my bank account and they debited the money out from Joann's and then put it back in!? What the heck, going to have to check on that.

I'm not having much luck with finding the right size cards.  Most of the packaged ones I've seen measure in at a tad smaller than the 4" by 6" requirement  So here's a random question.  Is is alright to use the pre-cut cards that a tad smaller, or should I cut cards from my cardstock?  I'm happy to do either!

Thoughts?

loves2experiment: I don't mind receiving cards that are a tad smaller. I just checked and the ones I buy at Hobby Lobby all the time are 4" x 5 1/2", with the envelopes probably a hair bigger.

That's totally fine guys, I just put in a guideline so that people weren't sending cards that were 2 x 2 or something. Approximate works!
