This sounds so interesting! My first swap item I received here was "Apocalypse survival kit in a box" and I'm currently doing a similar themed final project with thesis at school... It's like this swap is calling for me!
I seriously have to give this a thought.

Out of curiosity, would anyone want a belt? I do a lot of leather work, and I'd love to make someone a belt. Especially if it's a colourful apoc Grin

I keep trying to talk myself out of spending more money swapping, and yet I keep coming back here to read new comments. I think I'm about one comment away from up and joining (such a hardship, I know *rolls eyes*) But it would be super awesome if I could use up supplies instead of buying more, so ...belt?

I'm not attached to your world, nothing heals, nothing grows... we used to love ourselves, we used to love one another.

life is no cabaret- we don't care what you say, we're inviting you anyway, you mf'ers, you'll sing someday!

I've already had someone suggest a belt-bag... but any belt would probably be awesome. Someone else brought up the idea of having to carry everything with them so maybe a "utility belt"?

I am so excited by this idea. I hope it is a great swap!

gala_apples I personally would Love a belt. I think that we each have different talents, and that is why *I* like the ideas of swaps. I can do a lot of crafty stuff, but I don't make many accessories. (I don't know why) so people that can make accessories or belts are cool to me.

I didn't put this in my questioner, and it is a bit old now - but has anyone else seen Blood of Heroes and think that might be a cool post apocalyptic scenario?

Yaaay, I'm so excited for my very first swap! ^.^ I'm Autumn, or Giggles if you prefer. The latter is my airsoft/LARPing callsign. I'm super into postapocalyptia LARPing. My airsoft team organizes a Fallout-based LARP/airsoft in Oregon, so I'm stoked to get some new things as well as contribute to someone else's collection. Here's a little sample of my work from past events:

Just got back from Goodwill with a full bag of supplies. The lady looked at me funny, so I tried to explain what I was using car parts, weight belts, and other miscellany for, but she just looked at me in a stranger way after I did lol. Sooo many possibilities.... eeee!

For those of you who are looking at musical inspiration for this challenge, can I suggest Hadestown? This would be kind-of a dystopian /steam punk/ dusty post - apocalyptic scenario:

This is a folk opera based on the Orpheus myth and set in a post- apocalyptic American depression era. There are a few videos that you can listen to 4 of the songs streaming. You can also search you tube, and it has almost the whole album available.
This is very different from y normal music, but I've been very inspired by stuff that is 1930's/ dustbowl era inspiration, lately.

A quote about the album:
...whose songs tell a story from beginning to endspecifically, the ancient Greek myth of the poet Orpheus and his doomed quest to rescue his wife Eurydice from the underworld. In Mitchells hands, the familiar saga is reimagined as unfolding in a version of the U.S. that simultaneously evokes our Depression-era past, the current financial disaster (though it was written before the stock market collapse), and a post-apocalyptic future. Its a land where people hide behind walls in a misguided attempt to preserve their freedom and protect their riches.
