I'm trying to come up with some ideas to make my boyfriend a mini-envelope book for Valentine's Day. I have a bunch of things, and no ideas, really. I see all these gorgeous books on YouTube and they have ribbons and scrapbooking papers and removable tags and all this cool stuff, and I don't want to copy their ideas. I just want some inspiration. Anybody have any ideas of what I could do? So far I have:

~an idea for a ribbon corset page
~cute romantic, vintage, and hand-carved geeky stamps
~ink pads
~aging/antiquing/distressing pads
~red, black, and white solid cardstock
~coin envies (250 golden colored ones)
~heart stickers and love stickers
~gel pens in assorted colors (mostly pink)
~6x9 envies (golden colored, about 5)
~some cardstock/scrapbooking paper (a sheet with floral hearts, a sheet with lip-prints & hearts) but nothing romantic-looking
~paper cutter
~hole-puncher
~circle punch
~scalloped circle punch
~heart hole-puncher
~some flower embellishments
~white flower brads
~red and pink heart brads

I was thinking maybe doing a red, black, and white theme? Instead of just red. I could paint the coin envies and then put the white and black themed cardstock down, or make tags from the red cardstock or something. I was also thinking about putting black&white photos of me inside and I could color something in red (we don't have any pictures of us together yet)... I just can't focus! Please, can anybody help?

Sounds like you've got a great list of ideas! I love the idea of a red & black theme. Paper doilies are fun for valentines. You could use them for a stencil or a frame.

Please jump right in and let us get our jollies from your in-progress pictures. Cheesy

You can get a lot of good inspiration from books you admire, and use some of their ideas without flat out copying. We all use inspiration where we can find it...use what you like as a good jumping off point.

You have lots of good supplies. Start playing around with them and see what happens. Don't be afraid to experiment! I can't wait to see what you come up with.
